We end this fun chakra series with the crown chakra. Keep in mind there are many other smaller chakras within the body to be explored. Ebb & Flow Healing covered the seven main chakras that are most in need of balance for the overall health and well-being of the physical, mental and emotional bodies. Now let’s learn about the crown chakra and how you can keep it in balance with simple things at home in between your regular sessions.
The Sanskrit word for the crown chakra is sahasrara. This chakra is our spiritual chakra. This is where we explore or universal wisdom. The crown helps us connect and communicate with source. Our belief system and perception of the world around us is also developed here. This is another chakra that can be two colors. It presents as violet or bright white. The crown chakra is located on the top of the head.
Crown Chakra and Health
Like the third eye chakra, the crown also rules the pineal and pituitary glands. Our central nervous system and our brain function is closely related to how balanced our crown chakra is. Some issues that indicate your crown chakra needs some balance are headaches, migraines, and mental illness. Illnesses that affect the central nervous system such as Parkinson’s or epilepsy may also indicate a distortion of the crown chakra. Here are some questions you can ask yourself. Is your memory poor? Do you follow others? Are you stuck in a rigid belief system? Is it hard for you to open your mind to other points of view? Answering yes to any of these questions may indicate you need to balance your crown chakra.
Let’s learn some ways you can balance, calm, and clear your crown chakra at home. The most beneficial crystals to use for this chakra are clear or white stones. Some examples are clear quartz, celestite, and selenite. Light purple stones such as amethyst can also be helpful. If you prefer aromatherapy you can use sweet smelling essential oils. Ylang-ylang, rosewood and lotus (water lily) are some wonderful choices. To add color therapy into your ritual use light purple and bright white fabrics and/or lights for your crown chakra. I won’t forget my yoga lovers. The headstand, crane pose, and shoulder stand are most valuable for this chakra.
Meditation is truly the best way to balance and strengthen the seventh chakra. Even if you can only manage 10 minutes a day. You can also use daily affirmations, light therapy, and all types of energy (vibrational) healing.
