Heart Chakra: Taking the Mystery Out

The fourth chakra is our heart chakra. This chakra is the bridge between our lower, earthly and higher, spiritual chakras. Ebb & Flow Healing will take you through the main parts of the heart chakra this week. Be sure to read until the end where you will find some valuable suggestions to help you balance your heart at home in between sessions with your lightworker.

Main Characteristics

The Sanskrit word for the heart chakra is anahata. This is where our quest for love resides. The heart dictates how we give and receive love. Our self-love is also housed in the heart. Self-love is extremely important in creating stable and lasting relationships. The heart often presents as a pretty pink or a gorgeous green color. The heart chakra is in the center of our chest on the sternum.

Heart Chakra and Health

The endocrine gland ruled by the heart is the thymus. Our heart chakra also effects the upper back and ribs, arms, lungs, and of course the heart. When our fourth chakra is unbalanced it can cause illness such as bronchitis, asthma, allergies, and heart disorders. You may notice pain or other problems in your back, arms, or hands such as carpal tunnel, when the heart chakra is off balance. Emotional issues that often come from a distorted heart is depression, anxiety, or a lack of empathy. Are you regularly feeling unlovable? Do you often feel rejected by others? Are you giving more to others than to yourself? If you answered yes to any of those questions then you should try some of the following home exercises.

Home Work

The best way to open and balance the heart chakra is to allow in love from yourself and from others. However, if you need an extra boost to get you started, here are some crystals, oils, and simple activities you can utilize to help. Green and pink crystals are most beneficial for the heart chakra. Some examples are rose quartz, green aventurine, peridot and watermelon tourmaline. Pretty, floral smelling essentials oils such as rose, melissa or neroli are great ones to add into your meditations. Bathing yourself in colored lights or wearing clothing of bright greens, pinks, and light reds will also raise the heart chakra’s energy.

Try the following activities at home to find what works best for you. To balance your heart chakra you can get a massage or ask someone you trust to give you a good, strong, silent hug. While meditating allow yourself to feel your emotions, process them and then release. Holding in our emotions is a huge factor in throwing our heart chakra off balance. It is very important to have a way to safely release your emotions. For those of you that love yoga, the raised cobra and fish pose are great ones to use.

However, the most important thing you can do to raise the frequency of your heart is to tell yourself “I love you just as you are right this moment.” I personally write myself a love letter every morning to make my heart happy.

If you feel your heart is being stubborn with you, then give Ebb & Flow Healing a call at (970) 541-9005. We would be honored to offer some love to you and help you balance your heart chakra. Make sure to check out our other blog posts about chakras and crystals at www.eandfhealing.com

Taking the Mystery Out of the Solar Plexus Chakra

The solar plexus chakra is the last of the lower chakras. This week Ebb & Flow Healing will take you through the main parts of this chakra. When we are done, you will find some valuable suggestions to help you balance the solar plexus at home in between your regular sessions.

Main Characteristics

The Sanskrit word for this chakra is manipura. This is where our drive for power and will lies. The solar plexus is where we access our will to set boundaries for ourselves and others. This is also where our will to free our thoughts and behaviors from dysfunction and negativity comes from. The solar plexus presents bright yellow like the sun. This chakra is located between the navel and the sternum.

Solar Plexus Chakra and Health

There is a group of cells in the pancreas called Islets of Langerhans. This is the endocrine gland associated with the solar plexus. With that said, this chakra governs more organs than all the other chakras. When this chakra is unbalanced it can have effects on metabolism, the liver, the spleen, and the pancreas. If you have digestive issues, gallstones, or ulcers it may be an indication you need to clear your solar plexus chakra. You may need work in this area if you have low self-esteem or feel a lot of shame, especially from past traumas. This is also where negative self-talk comes from. Do you feel worthless or like you never do anything right? If so, then your solar plexus most likely needs some balancing.

Home Work

While the solar plexus can cause us to feel quite low, there are easy ways to bring us back up. By using crystals, oils, and simple activities at home we can balance this chakra and feel wonderful. Incorporating yellow crystals such as citrine, topaz or yellow tourmaline while meditating will help balance, calm and clear the solar plexus. Sweet, earthy smelling essentials oils can be added to aid the crystals. Oils such as cinnamon, juniper, geranium and clary sage are best. Use caution with clary sage however because it is a powerful relaxant. Do not use this oil if you must drive, while using alcohol or when pregnant. Shrouding yourself in yellow cloths or bathing in yellow light will also raise the vibration in the solar plexus chakra.

Simple activities at home such as quiet alone time, a lot of laughter, or safely bathing in the sunlight are most beneficial for balancing this chakra. If you love yoga, use the cow pose, camel pose or sitting spinal twist to focus on the solar plexus. However, the most important thing you can do for this chakra is to repeat self-affirmations. Instead of “I am worthless” think, say aloud, and repeat to yourself in the mirror “I am worthy”. Make sure to note how light you begin to feel when you take your power back.

Sometimes we allow years and years of muck to get stuck in the solar plexus chakra. If you are finding it is being stubborn, call Ebb & Flow Healing at (970) 541-9005. We would love to give you a helping hand in clearing and balancing your solar plexus.

Taking the Mystery Out of the Sacral Chakra

This week Ebb & Flow Healing will help you explore the sacral chakra. Continue reading to learn what this chakra is all about. Then take some time to play with the home work suggestions and experience the amazing benefits.

Main Characteristics

The Sanskrit word for the sacral chakra is svadisthana. This chakra is the pursuit of pleasure. Some even call it the sexual chakra. The sacral chakra is about intimacy, creativity, pleasure, and change. The color associated with this chakra is orange like the sweetness of the delectable fruit. You will find It located in between your root or sacrum and your navel.

Sacral Chakra and Health

The adrenal glands are ruled by the sacral chakra. This gland produces the hormones cortisol and aldosterone which assist us during times of stress and anxiety. The sacral also governs the reproductive organs, urinary system, and our pleasure senses. Some issues that indicate your sacral chakra needs some balance are bladder and urinary difficulties, chronic low back pain, reproductive problems, and sex related matters. Due to this being a pleasure chakra, addictions are also an indication of sacral chakra distortion. Ask yourself these questions: Do you feel unloved often? Do you use sex or substances as a tool to numb your feelings? Do you make sacrifices just to receive other’s approval? Answering yes to any of these questions is a signal to work on your sacral chakra.

Home Work

Now that you know the warning signs, let’s explore ways to balance, calm, and clear your second chakra. Crystals that are beneficial for the sacral chakra are beautiful orange stones such as carnelian, orange calcite, and fire opal. Moonstone and aquamarine are also useful because of the essential water energy it provides. You can pair these stones with the use of sweet smelling essential oils. Some great examples are jasmine, ylang-ylang, and sandalwood. If you want to add in some color energy, then use bright and vibrant orange fabrics and lights.

Physical touch is very important for the sacral chakra. Don’t be afraid to ask for a simple hug or cuddle with your fur baby. Getting a massage, going for a swim, or a long soak in the tub are great ways to balance and clear your sacral as well. This chakra is our pleasure center. Therefore, an important part of healing is to reclaim our right to feel our emotions, senses, passion and healthy pleasures, without guilt.

Call Ebb & Flow Healing today at (970) 541-9005 to find out how we can help you balance your sacral chakra. Make sure to also check out our website at www.eandfhealing.com for more awesome informational blogs and services!

Taking the Mystery Out of the Root Chakra

Back in August 2016 I wrote an article about the seven main chakras. However, I felt there was so much more we could teach you about each one. So, over the next seven weeks Ebb & Flow Healing will teach you about each chakra. This week we begin this series with the root chakra.

Main Characteristics

The Sanskrit word for the root chakra is muladhara. Some also refer to the first chakra as the base. The urge for survival thrives here. By keeping ourselves grounded we allow the energy to flow from the earth, into our feet and up our spine. As this energy flows through our body we can feel safe, secure, and strong. Each chakra has a corresponding color and location in the body. The color of our root is red like the blood of life. It is located between the anus and genitals.

Root Chakra and Health

The root chakra is associated with the endocrine glands. For women, this would be the ovaries while men the testes. This chakra assists in releasing the hormones estrogen and testosterone bringing about emotional balance. The base also governs the feet, ankles, knees and groin. All areas that assist in physical stability. When this root chakra is disrupted you may feel fearful, anxiety, restless, or unable to focus. Beware allowing your base to be off for too long because it will manifest in physical ways. This may develop as lower limb breaks, sprains, or other injuries. Spine problems, poor posture, or sleep disorders may also indicate you need to balance your root chakra.

Home Work

You can utilize crystals, yoga, essential oils, color, food, and sound to balance and unblock your chakras at home in between sessions. Let’s discuss some ways to do this for your root chakra now. Crystals that are beneficial for the root chakra are bright red stones such as red jasper or carnelian. Emeralds and blue sapphire are also useful when needing to calm the base chakra. You can pair these stones with the use of essential oils either topically or by diffusing. Earthy scents such as cedarwood, patchouli, and myrrh are best. Adding in colored fabric or tinted light of reds, browns, or other grounding colors increase the healing energies.

Movement of the body is quite important for staying grounded. Yoga and martial arts are great activities to keep the root chakra balanced. If you are feeling a little flighty, try taking a barefoot walk outside or (dare I say it) hug a few trees!

The root chakra is our foundation for all the other chakras. The more stable this chakra is the more balanced all our chakras will be. Just like the roots of a tree need to strong for the tree to grow tall and healthy; our root chakra needs to be grounded for us to remain balanced.

Muscovite: The Stone of Emotional Aide

This week Ebb & Flow Healing would like to spotlight majestic muscovite. I chose this amazing stone because it is so helpful in dealing with relationship emotions and expression of feelings. As I have needed a boost in this area myself recently, I wanted to share how I used muscovite to assist me.

Muscovite Physical

Muscovite is the most common form of mica. A potassium aluminum silicate mineral that forms mostly in hexagonal crystals. The coloring is typically white, gray and colorless, but it can also be found in red, violet, yellow or green. Green muscovite is also known as fuchsite. Pieces of this crystal is common in Brazil but can also be found in Russia and the United States.

Emotional Healing

Muscovite is very beneficial in aiding our emotional health. Especially regarding our personal relationships. If you need to express your thoughts and emotions to friends, family, or an intimate partner, this stone can help you. With the assistance of muscovite, you can be open and honest while holding unconditional love. When dealing with someone that knows how to push your buttons this magnificent stone will help you to react calmly. Muscovite is also a very spiritual stone. Many people that are going through a quick awakening find solace in this crystal.

Physical Healing

Muscovite can be quite helpful in pain relief. Especially in cases of headaches and migraines. It has also been found to be beneficial for persons with dizziness or vertigo symptoms. If you suffer from nightmares, insomnia or other sleep issues, try sleeping with muscovite under your pillow. It has been reported to calm bad dreams and allow for easier and better rest. For those of us that suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome or other chronic pain injuries muscovite is a stone to turn to for relief.

When I am needing a little extra attention for my third eye or crown chakra I meditate with this beautiful stone. Muscovite has a gentle energy that I love whether I am needing pain relief, emotional release or to boost trust in my own intuition. Fuchsite is also wonderful for the heart chakra. Be sure to add this specimen to your healing journey basket.
